v1.0.0
Apolo 1.0: lighter images, just as good. The first stable release. It arrives through the updater.
- 1.0. Apolo has now been tested thoroughly on macOS, Windows and Linux (GNOME and KDE, on x64 and ARM): this is its stable release. Nothing changes when compressing: each format still produces the same file, byte for byte, as its official tool.
- The new motto, “Lighter images, just as good”, in the Studio's welcome, Settings › About, the
command line, the Linux packages and the
.dmgbackground. - A new website, apolo.webcafeina.com: it knows your computer and gives you its download, with screenshots of your system; guides with figures measured by Apolo (convert to WebP, AVIF or JPEG XL, compress without losing quality, images for the web, HEIC to JPG, with an AI agent) and comparisons with other tools.
- Downloads you can verify: every file in this release has its provenance signed by GitHub,
stating which build produced it and from which code
(
gh attestation verify <file> --repo webcafeina/Apolo), and the download pages show each file's SHA-256 sum. - More security inside: dependencies with security advisories updated, and the installers are signed without the interface's code having the keys at hand.
- In the official MCP Registry, as
io.github.webcafeina/apolo: AI agents and their directories find Apolo on their own.
If you use Apolo from Claude Desktop, quit and reopen it after updating.
